Hannah and Dan met at work, they both work in the hotel industry so for them it was important to have a laid back wedding which didn’t remind them of being at work. On a family day out to Ness Gardens they knew straight away that it would be the perfect location for their wedding. They loved the laid back feel and it would be the perfect setting for their autumn wedding.
I met Hannah and Dan a few weeks earlier at Ness, it was a cold and rainy day. They told me the wedding was planned to be held outside come rain or shine, this made me nervous given their October date and our unpredictable wet English weather, but this didn’t seem to phase them at all.
We walked around the gardens and made plans for locations which we could use on their big day. I left knowing that I would have fun with them both and I knew the location wasn’t going to disappoint either.
The morning of the wedding arrived and it was certainly wet and windy. I arrived early to capture the bridal preparations at Hannah and Dan’s house. It was a relaxed morning of bridal preparations. Little Aria was so excited to put on her flower girl dress she must of asked every 10 minutes if it was now time to put on her dress. She looked beautiful and spent the rest of the morning practicing her walk down the aisle in the hallway.
The rock garden deep in the gardens at Ness was to provide the location for the ceremony but Storm Callum had the North West firmly it its grip and on the morning of the wedding they had to take the difficult decision to change the ceremony location to the building, but the room was beautifully made up with lovely views of the gardens and it meant the guests and the bridal party could enjoy the ceremony without being blown away!
Once the ceremony was complete we took what opportunities we had to rush outside to capture the couples portraits. When I met with Hannah and Dan they had both said how much they wanted the autumnal colours to be captured in their pictures so I was determined to get them outside and capture some of the beautiful gardens for them after all that is why they had chosen that particular location.
A big thanks to Hannah and Dan for choosing me to capture their special day. Hannah booked me without us ever meeting, I am so glad she did I enjoyed every minute of their wedding and their couple shots are amazing, I wish every wedding could be held in autumn (even during a crazy storm!).
